BIOGRAPHY

Business is ultimately about people, decisions and the ability to create enduring value.

My work has exposed me to industries where execution carries lasting consequences—from engineering and industrial operations to manufacturing, infrastructure and consumer businesses. Each environment has reinforced the same principle: sustainable progress is achieved through sound judgement, disciplined execution and commitment to continuous improvement.

Today, I serve as Vice Chairman of an industrial conglomerate, Balabel Group, while contributing to the development of businesses across multiple sectors. Alongside my corporate responsibilities, I continue to explore opportunities to build, invest in and strengthen organisations with long-term potential.

This website is a collection of ideas, observations and experiences gathered throughout that journey. It reflects the lessons learned from projects, boardrooms, negotiations, site visits and conversations with entrepreneurs, engineers, investors and operators.

As my career evolves, this platform will evolve with it—not as a record of titles or milestones, but as  a continuing record of ideas, experiences and observations gathered through the practice of building organisations and understanding industries.

PRINCIPLES

My decisions are guided by a number of principles that continue to shape my professional and personal life.

  1. Seek understanding before forming conclusions.
  2. Respect those who build, operate and execute.
  3. Make decisions with a long-term perspective.
  4. Learn continuously, regardless of position or experience.
  5. Value competence, integrity and accountability.
  6. Leave every organisation stronger than it was found.
  7. Measure success not only by outcomes, but by the standards maintained while achieving them.

These principles continue to evolve through experience, but they remain the foundation upon which I approach business, leadership and life.

journey

Every career begins long before the first professional title - Mine began on a cricket field.

The Discipline

The Inspiration

The Inspiration

For much of my childhood and adolescence, cricket was more than a sport—it was my ambition. Representing my district across multiple age groups, competing at the CBSE National level and being selected for the Delhi Under-19 State Camp taught me lessons that have remained with me far beyond the boundary rope.

Cricket demanded discipline when no one was watching, resilience when results did not go my way and consistency when expectations continued to rise. It taught me how to manage time, how to perform under pressure and, perhaps most importantly, how to respond to setbacks with composure rather than frustration. Those experiences continue to influence the way I approach leadership, business and life.

The Inspiration

The Inspiration

As my interests evolved, I found myself increasingly drawn towards industry and entrepreneurship. I became fascinated not only by how businesses operate, but by how they are built—from an idea into an institution that creates opportunities for people and contributes to society over generations. That perspective was shaped largely by watching my father build Balabel from the ground up.

Without inherited advantages or external backing, he built the organisation through conviction, perseverance and years of relentless effort. Witnessing that journey firsthand gave me an appreciation for entrepreneurship that few books or classrooms could have provided. It taught me that enduring organisations are not created through moments of inspiration alone, but through thousands of disciplined decisions made over many years.

The Decision

The Inspiration

The Independence

In 2021, I joined Balabel with a clear sense of responsibility—not simply to continue what had already been established, but to contribute to its next chapter. My objective has always been to strengthen the organisation, embrace new opportunities and help build an institution that continues to create value for its people, its partners and the communities it serves.

Over time, my responsibilities evolved from learning the fundamentals of the business to contributing to its strategic direction, ultimately leading to my appointment as Vice Chairman. Throughout that journey, I have remained committed to understanding the business from the ground up—recognising that informed leadership is built through experience, continuous learning and an appreciation of the people and systems that drive an organisation forward.

In 2026, I founded Ceremonial & Co. in London, United Kingdom. Although it operates in an entirely different industry, it reflects the same belief that has guided my professional life: meaningful businesses are built with patience, thoughtful execution and an unwavering commitment to quality.

The Future

The Future

My journey continues to be shaped by curiosity, continuous learning and a deep respect for those who build. Every project, every conversation and every challenge presents another opportunity to improve—not only as a business leader, but as a lifelong student of industry, leadership and entrepreneurship.

PERSPECTIVE

BEYOND BUSINESS

BEYOND BUSINESS

Over time, I have come to believe that businesses are rarely defined by their ideas alone. Ideas can be replicated, strategies can be studied and business models can be copied. What cannot be easily replicated is disciplined execution, capable leadership and an organisational culture that consistently delivers.

For that reason, I have always been drawn towards businesses built with longevity in mind rather than short-term opportunity. Enduring organisations create trust, develop meaningful partnerships and establish reputations that strengthen with time. Sustainable growth is seldom the result of a single decision; it is the accumulation of thousands of well-executed ones.

My approach to leadership is rooted in responsibility. A leader should create an environment where people are challenged to improve, supported when they need it most and recognised for the value they create. Leadership is not simply about directing others; it is about developing people through experience and building organisations that continue to grow beyond any individual.

Much of my thinking has been shaped not by classrooms, but by observing operations, studying industries and learning directly from people who have spent decades building businesses. I continue to believe that the best decisions begin with understanding, and that curiosity remains one of the most valuable qualities a leader can possess.

If there is one principle that consistently guides my decisions, it is this: build for the long term, execute with discipline and allow reputation to be the natural consequence of sustained work.

BEYOND BUSINESS

BEYOND BUSINESS

BEYOND BUSINESS

Curiosity has always extended beyond the boundaries of business.

When travelling, I find myself observing the systems that shape a place—its infrastructure, architecture, industries and the way people interact with them. Every city, factory and institution reflects a series of decisions made over time, and understanding those systems has become a habit that continually influences my thinking.

Outside of my professional responsibilities, I dedicate time to reading, physical training and studying subjects that challenge my perspective. Books such as Good to Great and Zero to One have reinforced the importance of disciplined organisations, independent thinking and long-term value creation. Beyond business, I enjoy exploring topics ranging from space exploration to historical mysteries, driven by a simple desire to understand how the world works.

Physical training is an equally important discipline. It represents consistency, resilience and personal accountability—qualities that are just as relevant in business as they are in everyday life.

If given the opportunity to devote my efforts to a problem without commercial constraint, I would choose waste management and resource recovery. As populations continue to grow, I believe the ability to transform waste into usable resources will become one of the defining infrastructure challenges of the coming decades.

Ultimately, I am less interested in collecting experiences than in understanding them. Whether through travel, books, conversations or industry, I continue to believe that curiosity is one of the most valuable investments a person can make.
